Because we have no natural water source on the land and do not wish to rely on the mains water supply we had a company come in and drill a bore hole for us. They drilled 25m deep through two aquifers. The water comes quite high, only a few meters below ground level. Unfortunately it is high in iron and manganese and they are now quoting us another £5,000+ for a filtration system to be installed. At least we have a water supply now, but I think I will look around for some other quotes to finish the job!
