Finally got around to removing the old 2 litre fizzy drinks bottle and replacing it with a real 25 litre pressure vessel.
This took a lot longer to get up to pressure of course; I had to pop the clacker valve about 30 times to get up enough pressure (about 20psi) for the pump to begin running on its own.
Delivery flow doesn't seem to have been affected, still about 1.2 litre/min.
Benefits of this change will be that air in the vessel won't slowly disappear requiring me to stop the pump and purge the vessel every couple of days. Also as this will eventually become our drinking supply I'm much happier now the toxic PET plastic that they make fizzy drinks bottles out of is removed from the system.
